The Founders
There were actually 6 founders, but we kicked out 2. The four original were Cliff Conway(Triple C), Garreth Lloyd(Geist), Kyle Guerrero(Spike Ice), and Eric Mace(Biggy Mace). The two that were kicked out were Tom Saldivar(Ace) and Justin Baker(Apocalypse). The 4 of us that watched wrestling, (Gar, Kyle, Cliff and Tom) liked wrestling so much, that we wanted to bulid a wrestling ring and start a fed. We knew our parents wouldn't go for it, so we told them that it was a project for our tech production class that the four of us were in which was partially true, but we mostly did it for us. We all thought of gimmicks, our fed's name(which for the first event was Independent Wrestling Federation but we later changed it when we found out what a real Independent fed was to iNSANE Wrestling Fed) and got two others to join (Eric & Justin). We then booked our first event......
Our First Event
Our first event was held at Cliff's house on 2/27/99. We named it an unoriginal Superbrawl. There were only 3 booked matches because we didn't have many wrestlers. It went pretty smoothly and no one got hurt. When we were done, we had a pretty decent wrestling show. We had planned to do a second event a month later, and more, but day before our second event, Cliff got in trouble and the event was at his house. Around one year later, backyard wrestling was brought up again and how we should start it once more. Eventually we started again, at Gar's house, and since, we've been wrestling frequently. We also got some more dedicated members named Dustin Lloyd(Madd Dogg) and Brandon Booth(Madd Hatter). Now we have great gimmicks and deep storylines!
Sound System
At the first event, all we had was a cheap ass radio to play the music and we didn't have mics. By the second event a year later, Kyle and Cliff were in a band, so they have a great Fender Passport PA system that plays the music very loud and also has 4 mic lines.
Joining the Fed
iWf is in need of some good wrestlers, refs, and a permanent commentator. If you live in the Monrovia area then e-mail us and we'll give you information on how to contact us and when/where our next event is. You need to be at least 14 years of age to be a wrestler(should have a gimmick and theme song, if not we'll work with you on it), 12 to be a ref, and 14 to commentate and handle the camera.
